Friends of Middlebury Hockey and an enthusiastic Middlebury Union High School hockey crowd honored Bill Ford for his 20+ years of leadership in the Addison County community. Bill served in a variety of roles, ranging from president of Friends of Middlebury Hockey to manager of Memorial Sports Center. Bill, accompanied by his wife Carol and their children and granddaughter, were presented with a plaque and gifts during the intermission between the 1st and 2nd periods of the boy’s high school hockey game between Middlebury Union High School and Burr & Burton Academy. Bill’s successor as manager of Memorial Sports Center, Rick Marshall, recounted many of Bill’s contributions while thanking him and his family for their dedication.

Bill is a beloved figure in the Addison County community and has touched the lives of countless youth hockey players and their families. Under his guidance Memorial Sports Center has become a year-round home for athletic and community events. While he has retired as manager, his legacy continues to inspire our community as our volunteers and non-profits work to expand Memorial Sports Center and give Addison County’s next generation a wonderful shared resource.
