Friends of Middlebury Hockey is seeking a volunteer to serve as Concessions Coordinator for Memorial Sports Center. The Concessions Coordinator is a key member in the collaboration between MSC management, Friends of Middlebury Hockey, and our local MAHA and MUHS programs. FOMH Concessions Coordinator Role & Responsibilities

1. SETTING CONCESSION OFFERINGS & PLACING ORDERS

– place initial orders each season from standard suppliers: Monument Farms, Capital Candy in Barre (grocery wholesaler, they deliver on Wednesdays), and Java Traders

– periodically check stock to line up future order

2. SETTING CONCESSION PRICING & TRACKING

– set prices in conjunction with FOMH, with a typical 100% markup

– monitor stocking expense and revenue tracking for FOMH Board

3. SETTING CONCESSION POLICY & SIGNAGE

– monitor operations and set policy if needed

– add signage as needed

3. EXPLORING ADDITIONAL REVENUE/OFFERING OPPORTUNITIES

– come up with ideas for new or different offerings

– look into more healthy offerings

– make sure pricing is up to date as product prices change

4. COMMUNICATION WITH USER GROUPS

– communicate concession-stand staffing procedures and related changes to primary user groups: MAHA, MUHS

– meet with and answer questions from hockey parents on operations

– help train users on the Square Point of Sale System

4. BOARD LIAISON

– presenting/resolving concession issues with FOMH Board (meets once per month)

6. OTHER

– Make sure payment software and hardware (Square setup) is up to date with Management

– Planning special events, like tournament weekends

NOTE: the role does not require accounts payable (all invoices go directly to FOMH), cleaning (Richard Eddy, MSC’s primary facility cleaner, cleans the concession M-W-F mornings and Sat night, with a periodic deep clean when requested), or recruiting volunteers (this falls to the MAHA team coordinators and MUHS team parents).

Also, for the 2022-2023 season, if a House Mite or JAM Mite parent volunteers for the role of FOMH Concessions Coordinator they will be excused from having to work a volunteer job during home JAM Mite games or House League.
