The 2018 nominations for the Kraft Hockeyville USA 2018 contest are now open! The nomination process has been changed for 2018 to now place an increased emphasis on community participation and the grand prize amount for the winning community has increased to $150,000!
For those unfamiliar with the Hockeyville contest, it is an annual promotion from Kraft Heinz to find America’s “most spirited and enthusiastic hockey communities”. That sounds like Middlebury to me! This year’s winner will be announced on April 14, 2018, during an intermission of NBCSN’s Stanley Cup Playoff coverage, and will be awarded the grand prize of an opportunity to host an NHL Pre-Season Game and $150,000 in rink upgrades from Kraft Heinz. First prize (runner-up) will receive $30,000 toward rink upgrades, and the second place rinks will each receive $10,000.
To make it through the nomination process, we’ll all need to work together to bring the story of Middlebury hockey and our community to life. The communities with the best stories and highest rally point totals will make it through the three rounds of qualifying to the final selection process.
